What I do

Service Desk

The IT service desk is one of the busiest places in a company, and often the most neglected. There's no time to compile fixes, policies and procedures, and knowledge bases.

So where's the information? In people's heads.

Get the information out of heads and put it somewhere accessible to everyone and stop the, "How do I…?" and the "Where do I find…?" yelling across the floor.

Result: A quiet, efficient service desk, where people can find the information they need without the panic.

IT Product Descriptions

You know you have a world-changing invention and you can't help telling everyone it's built around and 8-core super processor, with 128GB of DDR8 RAM with a 3TB SSD, powered by its own inbuilt nuclear reactor and it's going to change their life!

Phew! Is it? How?

I can write a product description that describes your product's features but highlights the most important of all - why people need it.

Result: More sales because people can relate it to their needs.

IT Communications

I worked for a company where the CEO didn't believe in IT communications. When a server needed restarting, it generated a lot of calls for the service desk.

Don't do that to your employees.

Let me get you started on how to communicate changes and outages to your employees. And then you can write your own.

Result: Employees are informed with regular updates, and can adjust their priorities as necessary.

IT Press Releases

Sydney, Australia 16th August, 2016 - Man vs Word, a leading business writing service, announced today that it will start writing IT press releases in the first quarter of 2017.

"IT press releases are typically packed full of power words and phrases. And these are jammed into one paragraph which makes it look nonsensical. Who has the time to decipher it?" said Alan Taylor, owner of Man vs Word.

Speak to people with your press releases, and your products and services will get the attention they deserve.

Result: Your products and services will get the attention they deserve.

IT Website Copy

Want copy that speaks to people of non-IT backgrounds? Want to ensure they understand your products and services?

Not to communicate that you've got the fastest doohickie in the world.

Or that your research lab is the size of eight football fields.

But how you're going to save their business time, money and generate income.

Result: More customers who can see you have a solution to their problems.

Article Writing and blog posts

Need an article written? Blog post? I've completed courses in journalism, copywriting, creative, and feature article writing.

I've interviewed people to find the gold that makes a good story; from the State President of the NSW RSL, to an electrical retailer in Dubbo.

You won't need to lift a finger and people won't need a university degree to read them.

Result: People love a great story, even more so when it's true. Draw people to your business with great storytelling.
